Oak-killing beetles spread through firewood

RIVERSIDE ? A species of beetle blamed for killing tens of thousands of oak trees in Southern California appears to be spreading through firewood, which means controlling the movement of wood may be the key to containing the pest, UC Riverside researchers said.
